In 1949 the Exotic Garden of Eze was created in the ruins of the castle under the impetus of André Gianton, the mayor at the time, with the help of Jean Gastaud, who was at the origin of the Exotic Garden of Monaco.

During the winter of 2003/2004, the municipality of Eze undertook a complete renovation of the Exotic Garden with the aim of creating a garden for living.

As you enter the exotic garden, head straight for the sea to discover the many cactuses. The Exotic Garden of Eze is well known for its view and its collection of cactuses!

Cactuses: These cactuses come from Central America and Mexico. They have been gradually acclimatised to withstand the cooler winters on the Côte d’Azur than in the desert.

Little test: Some cactus are soft, we let you do the test 😉 While respecting these magnificent exotic plants, of course!

🦘Find the kangaroo hidden in the garden!

🦉 At the entrance, head in the direction indicated by the owl to find the soft-haired cactus.

🌵 After petting the soft-haired cactus, go up the small stairs to find the orientation table.

🧭 Find North on the orientation table and look carefully in that direction.
